It’s not every year that Atlanta gets snow. But this year, we just had our second snow storm. In fact, it’s the second snow storm in the same week! The kids are loving it. First, the snow angel in the fresh snow.

    Then, it’s snow boogie time!

Every once in a while, Atlanta gets snow. Too bad it didn’t snow over the holiday when my nieces were here. Here’s a quick shot taken around midnight.

Well, this celebration was actually on July 3rd, but it was great nonetheless. We went to the City of Duluth’s Duluth Celebrates America at Scott Hudgens Park. After a short period of sprinkles, the weather was just amazing. The kids got a chance to ride the train and we sat and listened to Lori O’Brien and The Army Ground Forces Concert Band, both great performances. The night ended with a nice display of fireworks!

The other day, I noticed Alexis was wearing this one-sies, so I had to take a quick snapshot of it. The nice folks at Arrs gave my wife this awesome one-sies for Alexis. It looks really cool on her. Go Arris!

For some of my technical buddies that frequent my blog, I thought you would be very interested in a tour of Canon’s factory where they make the awesome lenses I use to photograph everything. It’s a virtual tour, but quite informative. In fact, it kind of reminds me of the Materials class I had in college. Have a look here.

And more generically (not just Canon), here’s another video on how lenses are made:

If you want to purchase them, just click through and I get a little reward from Amazon for each purchase. Just to clarify, you’re not buying directly from me. You’re buying from Amazon and all payments and shipping are handled by Amazon.

Got some time today to swing by Austin’s class for the class Thanksgiving celebration. This is the first time I actually saw his classmates, other than a few at the bus stop. These kids have grown like weeds!

Here are some of the boys:

Just purchased the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro lens. Wow, what a neat lens for macros. Unlike the “L” lens I’m used to using, the focusing mechanism on this lens is somewhat slow. And, in low light, it can’t focus like my other lens. But, wow, the macro opportunity this allows for is amazing. Here are some of the very first shots out of the camera!
