Such sweet and quiet girls. These two were a joy to photograph. They had enough patience to allow me to work with them in so many places.

Here are a few highlights from an early Sunday morning with the girls.

This is our first trip to an air show in Atlanta. The weather was perfect for an outdoor event. Blue skies, not grey. We got started late but finding parking wasn’t so difficult. However, getting from the shuttle to the show was another story. There were long lines and I’m sure it took well over an hour before we entered the gates at Dobbins Air Force base.

Once we were in, the first plane we saw was the Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet. Here’s a picture of it on the verge of breaking the sound barrier.

Then came the F-22 demonstration. I was amazed to say the least.

Here’s one where (what I call) the bomb doors are opened.

Then the F-22 joined the F-15E and the P-51 Mustang for a “Heritage Flight”

To wrap up the show, the Thunderbirds demonstrated precision flying. This brought back memories as I used to have a model plane of a Thunderbird as a kid.

Here’s my favorite shot taken by my Mom.

And finally, Mom took a photo of me photographing the Thunderbirds. Yes, that’s my daughter in my left arm while I weild the 100-400mm Canon L lens around.

The Sawnee School of Ballet recently asked me to photograph headshots of their Company dancers. These girls (and Gregory :)) are great and so easy to work with. As I chatted with each of them during the session, the overwhelming theme is how long they’ve been dancing. I can’t help but be amazed at the commitment they must have. Look for them this December performing The Nutcracker. More information can be found at the Sawnee Ballet Theatre.
